Christmas Markets and Winter Fairs

October 2021

Who doesn't love a magical Christmas market? Twinkling lights, sparkling stalls, all that promise of sugary, Christmassy yumminess in the air. Eggnog and mulled wine, hot chocolate with all the fixings, caramel lattes and gingerbread... And amongst the warm Welsh festivities, the chance to pick up stocking fillers or pressies for the tree of course.

As we're all aware, there may be restrictions that come into play this year so do double check details and some markets that have been run in the past are not going ahead this hear. But for now, what's on the calendar?

8 Christmas Fairs

  1. Cardigan Street Fair - 10th November The Fair in our local town has taken place every year since 1837, with 2020 being the first year it had been cancelled in 183 years. But it's back for 2021, on its traditional date of 10 November.

  2. Cardigan Castle - 27th November Local food stalls, crafts, and unique gifts will be available at the castle, along with Santa Claus in his grotto and festive music. Details

  3. Picton Castle Victorian Christmas Fair - 20th-21st November A Christmas fair in a castle is on to a winner, especially when the castle will be decorated in a gorgeous Victorian theme with 50 stalls selling decorations and gifts. There's also a Christmas trail for the children, searching for Santa's lost reindeer... how lovely does that sound? There's also a festive Needle Felting workshop and Christmas Candlelight Tours. Details

  4. Carmarthen Christmas parade - 20th November There will be a reindeer parade, the official switching on of the Christmas lights, and a fireworks display, as well as free activities for children.

  5. Queens Hall, Narberth - 16th-18th December Unique crafts and gifts, and all under one roof. There will also be plenty of refreshments, including turkey and stuffing rolls, mulled wine, and mince pies. Details

Zip World at Llechwedd are creating an underground Christmas Grotto in the slate mine.
